Onyx Hospitality and Thai real estate firm Ratanakorn Asset forged a management agreement for three new Pattaya-based hotels.
The said hotels will be an extension of Onyx Hospitality's top brands - Amari, OZO and Shama. With this expansion, approximately 773 more rooms and suites will be added to the company's existing portfolio.
400 out of 773 new rooms belong to the Amari Jomtien Pattaya project. Shama Wongamat Pattaya, on one hand, will consist of 250 rooms, while OZO Pratumnak Pattaya has the least share of 123 rooms.
Situated in Na Jomtien, along Pattaya city’s southern side, Amari Jomtien Pattaya will be surrounded by mixed-use beachfront. There will be a community retail mall in the area that visitors can access at their convenience.
This new Amari hotel chain is a 30-storey high-rise building that takes inspiration from contemporary Thai designs. If you have ever been to other hotels under this brand, expect to see the usual Amari signatures. From the market-style Amaya Food Gallery to botanical spa treatments at Breeze Spa, you will surely find all the features that made you love Amari.
Guests will be able to access an exclusive beach club, a specialty restaurant and a floor and lounge specially designed for executives. Target opening date for Amari will be in 2024. Facilities for grand events and meetings will also be offered, including a ballroom that can accommodate up to 1,000 individuals in cocktail fashion. Smaller function rooms are also available for intimate groups.
Soon, to the North of Pattaya, Shama Wongamat Pattaya will rise as a 250-unit condo building offering studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartment units. In addition to its residential quarters, the property will serve sumptuous food at an all-day dining restaurant. Visitors can hang out in a guest lounge. Meanwhile, residents have unlimited access to a pool, a garden and gym facilities. Shama Wongamat Pattaya will be completed and commence operations in 2025.
OZO Pratumnak Hill, on one hand, is set to open in 2022. It will be a mid to upscale hotel offering 123 rooms. Guests can expect a unique ambience especially in designated public spaces within the hotel. A portion of the property will be marketed as the ideal place for peace and quiet.
Onyx Hospitality Group’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Douglas Martell, shared the news: "Pattaya is the birthplace of the Onyx Hospitality Group growth story, and where our first hotel was launched close to half a century ago. It is with great excitement that we expand our reach in this key Thai destination, with all three of our core brands being represented in this partnership with Ratanakorn Asset.”
He added that as the country’s eastern region grows to become a prime destination domestic and international visits, the company looks forward to “being one of the prominent hospitality players in this growing region." Such investments should be worth the risks thanks to “planned road, rail and air infrastructure enhancements and investment in the Eastern Economic Corridor initiatives.”
Onyx Hospitality operates mainly in Bangkok. However, their expanding regional portfolio covers around 50 properties, under the three core brands, across eight countries in Asia. 20 new properties are underway. Some are set to launch abroad in the property markets of China, Laos and Malaysia and Laos. One of their major goals is to complete 99 hotel projects by 2024.
